My name is Brendan Bowman. When I was a teen, I always struggled with skin issues. I always had acne and hyperpigmentation. I also struggled with ingrown hairs after I shaved, and I even had eyebags and early signs of aging. When I researched skincare products, I could tell that they were all made for women. All the advertisements were women and the products were pink and it was clearly very female oriented. It was always hard to find skincare products made for men. Even the male role models in my life thought that skincare was a “feminine” thing to do. This made me ashamed to treat my skin issues. Unfortunately this is a common trait in most cultures around the world. I created Glow up Central to bring light to the fact men have skin issues too and we need to be okay with treating them.
